Yet, what if there was a way for you to find out if going from ship to shore is the right next step for you? A way to find out that perhaps the answer is a heck yes, or no you enjoy ship life and perhaps you need change positions or change departments?

Getting super clear on your situation, what is going on for you and what next steps are needed will not only make you feel better, yes goodbye overwhelm and frustration but will make you feel more in control of your life.

We know when it comes to deciding if one should leave ship life for land life it is a big decision. And many folks when at this stage do one of two things:

They either stay exactly where they are “undecided”, as this is much easier however it keeps them in the unpleasant reality

Or they chose when on vacation to try looking for a new job so they can see “if” it is possible, all of which is done for many from a place of fear and desperation as time is ticking away due to the upcoming sign on date.

As you can tell neither option is truly helpful as it does not solve the problem.

I totally get this situation, both sides of it as I use to be in it myself. It is a big decision that bring many thoughts.

What work will I do on land?
Will I receive the same type of pay?
How do I adjust to living on land?
Will I like it?
Who will employ me?
What if I make the wrong decision?
What am I good at?

It can be difficult to imagine living an incredible happy fulfilled life on land when you have been working at sea, but it is not impossible to have.

Today if you are experiencing burnout, or you are working in a toxic environment, or your role is simply unfulfilling. Your answer to happiness could be staying in your role but with a few tweaks, or it could be changing roles or departments, or it could be leaving ship life.

One thing for certain is you need to know what is currently not working for you so you can make an informed decision to get you on path to happiness.
